2018 Emerging Leaders Program

AHS is accepting applications for the third annual Emerging Leaders Program through September 10

Established in 2016, the Emerging Leaders Program was created in order to identify top talent in the field of headache medicine and develop future leaders of our Society. We are encouraging aspiring headache specialists, researchers and clinicians to apply for this unique leadership opportunity.

What is the Emerging Leaders Program?

Through mentorship, educational lectures and networking opportunities, the Emerging Leaders Program provides young professionals with the resources to thrive not only in the field of headache medicine, but also within the American Headache Society. Program participants will be able to interact with world-renowned headache specialists, hone their professional skills and lay the groundwork for long-lasting, fulfilling relationships. Additionally, participants will learn about opportunities to serve on committees and assist with special projects and Society activities.

Who is eligible for the program?

Candidates must be 40 years or younger as of January 1, 2018, and must have completed training within the last seven years to qualify for participation. Candidates may currently be a fourth-year resident or active headache medicine fellow. Accepted candidates will be required to commit to completing an agreed-upon project to present to the AHS Board of Directors.

When does the program take place?

This year’s program will take place November 14, 2018, at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Participants will receive complimentary registration for the event, as well as for the 2018 Scottsdale Headache Symposium November 14-18, 2018.

The electronic application must be submitted with all required supporting materials no later than September 10, 2018.
