Headache Education & Training
A primary mission of the American Headache Society is to sponsor and promote continuing education for headache specialists and medical professionals outside the field of headache medicine. The Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and provides education opportunities, a forum to discuss the latest news and research and to support health professionals working in the field of headache medicine.
Our programs are carefully designed to empower and educate medical students and existing health care providers on recent research and treatment options in the field of headache medicine. Education On Demand
The American Headache Society’s Education On Demand Platform provides members with remote access to educational resources from AHS meetings and events on one digital platform.
Emerging Leaders Program
The Emerging Leaders Program identifies and develops future leaders within the American Headache Society and the field of headache medicine. By connecting young medical professionals with mentors and opportunities within the Society, these emerging leaders are given the tools they need to thrive professionally.
Resident Education
The American Headache Society is dedicated to providing residents with a foundation in headache medicine through the Resident Education and REACH programs which aim to inspire a greater number of neurology trainees to consider careers in headache medicine.
International Headache Academy
The International Headache Academy (IHA) is designed to inspire a long-term commitment to headache medicine in young neurologists and research scientists through an educational program focusing on clinical and research aspects of the field.
First Contact — Headache in Primary Care
The goal of First Contact – Headache in Primary Care, powered by the American Headache Society, is to provide educational resources to Family physicians, internists, OBGYNs, pediatricians, PAs, NPs, and other allied healthcare providers and improve headache and migraine care.
Mastering Migraine Therapies
The Mastering Migraine Therapies (MMT) initiative is a comprehensive program designed to provide a multi-faceted approach to migraine education offered at no cost to healthcare providers. Brought to you by the American Headache Society, the program covers diagnosis and treatment of migraine, and updates on the latest science.
