IHS Clinical and Basic Science Headache Research Fellowship Award

The International Headache Society offers three awards to support early career researchers

The International Headache Society (IHS) is offering three awards to support early career researchers in headache medicine. We encourage all eligible members to apply and make the most of these opportunities. These awards will help researchers improve the care and lives of those living with headache disorders.

IHS Clinical and Basic Science Headache Research Fellowship Award

This one-year fellowship award aims to support innovative and impactful research from young investigators, promote their careers, and increase the knowledge base of headache disorders. The IHS will consider applications for basic or clinical science headache research, or a combination of basic and clinical research. Applicants must be professionally involved in the treatment, research or management of headache disorders and be within six years of completing training (MD, PhD, specialty training, whatever was last) not including non-professional periods. IHC Junior Travel Grants

The IHS offers travel grants to young researchers and physicians to attend the biennial International Headache Congress (IHC – Berlin, 8-12 September 2021). Current under- or postgraduate students (including but not limited to medical students and PhD students) or a medical doctor training to become a specialist. Medical doctors need to be within three years of obtaining their medical doctorate or academic postgraduate degree or specialist certification, whichever was obtained latest. For other academic groups alternatively, applicants need to be within six years of obtaining their latest academic degree. Applicants need to have at least one submitted abstract or be a resident of a World Bank country listed as Low-, Lower-Middle- or Upper-Middle-income. Learn more and apply.

IHS Allied Specialities Scholarship

The IHS Allied Specialities Scholarships aim to develop expertise in the field of headache for allied specialities e.g. nurses, therapists. The Allied Specialities Scholarship will facilitate training through a short-stay scholarship for clinical training or a research project in a major headache center. Applicants must be a qualified nurse or therapist (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or psychotherapist) and within two years of their appointment at a primary or secondary headache care center.
