Launched in 1970, the Scottsdale Headache Symposium has long been the destination for the presentation of practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, management and treatment of headache disorders. Celebrating 60 years of serving the headache community, the Symposium continues to provide healthcare professionals with a platform to showcase their work, expand their expertise and further the field of headache medicine.

This year’s program will take place November 14-18, 2018 at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. Find out more about what makes this event so vital to the field of headache medicine below.

What is the Scottsdale Headache Symposium?

This four-day event is an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals and researchers to connect with members of their field. Through mentorship, workshops, informational lectures and keynote presentations, Symposium participants are invited to collaborate with colleagues in a variety of educational formats including didactic, case-based, evidence-based and demonstrative sessions.

Who should attend the Symposium?

The Scottsdale Headache Symposium is designed for all healthcare professionals who treat headache disorders, including general practitioners, internists, pediatricians, neurologists, anesthesiologists, dentists, physical therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses. Symposium curriculum was developed by and for AHS members, though the event is open to non-members, as well.

What are the objectives of the 2018 Scottsdale Headache Symposium?

As with all educational initiatives, the American Headache Society aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and professional performance of physicians, psychologists, and other health professionals in the care of patients with head, neck and orofacial pain. Specifically, it is the goal of the Society to enable Symposium attendees to provide more effective patient care through enhanced diagnosis and treatment of headache disorders using techniques and information from the 2018 Scottsdale Headache Symposium.

Do members receive additional benefits during the Headache Symposium?
