The theme of this year World Brain Day was “Brain Health: Access for All.” On July 22nd, 2026, the World Federation of Neurology marked World Brain Day with a clear message: brain health is a fundamental human right.

International Headache Week (IHW), set to take place March 15-21, 2026, is a global initiative led by Lifting The Burden (LTB) to raise awareness of the burden of headache disorders worldwide.

The Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (AHDA) is thrilled to announce that the Headache Education, Access, Diagnosis, and Care Health Equity Act (HEADACHE Act, H.R. 5536) has been introduced in the House of Representatives by Representatives Trahan and Fitzpatrick. This bipartisan legislation is a historic first for our community; the first standalone bill focused on migraine and headache disorders.

Despite progress, fewer than 12% of people with migraine overcome the barriers of consulting a provider, receiving an accurate diagnosis, and accessing appropriate treatment. To close this gap, experts emphasize the need for structured, community-based headache services.

Headache on the Hill 2025 united advocates in Washington, D.C. to push for policy change and increased support for headache and migraine care.
