Mayo Graduate School of Medical Education

About the Rotation
Our headache elective at Mayo Clinic-Rochester provides 3rd and 4th-year medical students with a focused experience in the care of headache and facial pain disorders at a multidisciplinary practice that sees patients from around the world. You will have the opportunity to work with our nine-core faculty who see a wide array of headache and facial pain disorders, including migraine, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (e.g., cluster headache), trigeminal neuralgia, and various secondary headache disorders. The experience will provide you with exposure to the use of CGRP-targeted therapies and more advanced craniofacial pain treatments such as image-guided procedures, nerve blocks, neuromodulation, and Botox. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the CSF Dynamics Clinic, which has pioneered care in spinal CSF leaks and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. The rotation is outpatient and occurs at our main downtown clinic in Rochester, MN.
