Physician Scientist, Headache Research – Emory University – Atlanta, GA

Emory University Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained physician scientist, board-certified or board-eligible in Headache Medicine, with a strong commitment to translational or clinical research. We are seeking candidates with enthusiasm and a creative mindset to be part of its inaugural Headache Center team. About Headache Medicine Research at Emory University

The successful candidate will split their time between clinical practice and research activities, with protected research time and dedicated funding support. The candidate will have a focused outpatient headache medicine practice and administer clinical care and procedures, including onabotulinumtoxinA injections, trigger point injections, and nerve blocks. The candidate will also have access to advanced headache care through outpatient and inpatient infusions.

General Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) required, with board certification in Neurology
  • Hold a Georgia medical license or have the ability to obtain one
  • Subspecialty training and/or certification in headache medicine required
  • Demonstrated research experience with peer-reviewed publications in headache medicine or related neuroscience fields
  • Experience with clinical research methodology, biostatistics, and grant writing preferred
  • Strong commitment to academic medicine and translational research
