About the Program
The Northwestern Headache Medicine fellowship is designed to train strong headache medicine clinicians who may be interested in becoming future leaders in academic headache medicine. Our Headache Medicine fellowship is a one-year UCNS accredited program which is available to graduates of US adult and pediatric neurology residencies. Fellows will work with both adult and pediatric trained neurologists who are board-certified headache specialists and there are additional opportunities for elective experiences with pain medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neuropsychology, and sleep medicine. Our program provides extensive clinical training in the evaluation and management of primary and secondary headache disorders in the outpatient setting. Fellows will gain experience in the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of headache, including the opportunity to be trained in procedural techniques including peripheral nerve blocks and onabotulinumtoxinA injections for chronic migraine.
