The Mastering Migraine Therapies Program Has Returned

We are excited to announce that our Mastering Migraine Therapies (MMT) program has returned to provide education on the diagnosis and treatment of migraine, along with updates on the latest science and therapies shaping patient care. The program will once again be led by committee co-chairs Stephanie J. Nahas, MD, MSEd, FAHS, and Claire Sandoe, MD, MS.

With new content spanning a broader array of topics in migraine and headache medicine, Dr. Nahas is looking forward to the program’s direction. “We're really excited about big things happening for this program, and ready to disseminate it to a much broader audience than ever before,” says Dr. Nahas. “All of our content has been completely updated as well as vetted by experts within the field, so you can be sure of high-quality and compact, efficient education to meet all of your knowledge and skills needs." The 2026 program features seven pre-recorded, On Demand lectures covering a wide range of migraine-related topics.

• “Migraine: Making the Diagnosis and Key Considerations” reviews migraine burden, how to apply diagnostic criteria, and the association with cardiovascular disease.
• “How Do I Explain Migraine to my Patients?” explores migraine prevalence and distinctions, examines its broad impact, and reviews clinical progression and modifiable risk factors.
• “A Comprehensive Approach to Migraine Prevention” reviews current patterns of preventive medication, highlights tools to help clinicians select treatment, and addresses common adverse events associated with therapies and evidence-based pharmacological interventions.
• “A Comprehensive Approach to Acute Migraine Treatment” examines unmet needs in acute migraine treatment, addresses how pathophysiology, comorbidities, and concomitant medication inform treatment, and evaluates FDA-approved or cleared medications and neuromodulation devices.
• “Neuromodulation for Migraine and Other Primary Headaches: Integration into Clinical Practice” describes FDA-cleared Non-invasive Neuromodulation (NIN) devices, their potential mechanism of action, cost, and recommended use protocols.
• “Behavioral Treatments for Migraine” explores communication in migraine care, highlights strategies to enhance patient motivation and adherence, and addresses when and how to incorporate behavioral strategies into individualized treatment plans or refer patients for behavioral treatments in clinical practice.
• “Migraine in Children and Adolescents” focuses on differentiating primary from secondary headache disorder for accurate diagnosis, developing treatment plans that address acute management and attack frequency prevention, and the use of behavioral therapy.

In addition to the content available On Demand, participants will also have opportunities to engage in live Q&A sessions with migraine experts for additional CME. These discussions are intended to help clinicians navigate common questions related to newer therapies and patient management, including treatment combinations, neuromodulation, pregnancy and lactation considerations, care for older adults, and treatment approaches for pediatric and menstrual migraine.
