Introducing the 2026-2028 AHS Board of Directors

The American Headache Society is proud to announce its Board of Directors for the 2026-2028 term. These elected leaders bring deep expertise across clinical practice, research, and education, and hold a shared commitment to advancing care for the millions of people living with migraine and headache. Their term officially began June 1st, 2026.

Leading the incoming board is new President Matthew S. Robbins, MD, FAHS. He enters the role focused on expanding participation in headache medicine and strengthening the support the Society offers those who pursue it.

“My main goal is to continue to broaden the tent. We really want to improve places where anyone in their career arc in headache medicine can join the organization, contribute, mentor or be mentored,” says Dr. Robbins. “We improve the lives of people with migraine and other headache disorders by improving the quality and the quantity of the people who can take care of them in the long run.” 

For Dr. Robbins, sustaining that kind of growth comes down to the people already at the table. “There is a lot that is going on in our organization, and to keep track of everything takes an amazing team," adds Dr. Robbins. "That includes a really great board of directors, all of our committee chairs, and Special Interest Group chairs. My vision for the American Headache Society is to really leverage this great connectedness that we all have here in the organization.” 

We're grateful to the outgoing board members for their dedication and service to AHS, and we're energized by the work ahead. With the new board in place, AHS is well-positioned to keep pushing headache medicine forward.
