The Annual Scientific Meeting brings together clinicians, researchers, trainees, and other healthcare professionals to share the latest research, discuss scientific and clinical advances, and strengthen the future of headache medicine.

Agenda Highlights

Thursday

The meeting kicks off with a full day of programming. The morning is packed with pre-course sessions, offering a variety of earning opportunities for attendees at all career stages. Thursday afternoon features a welcome from incoming AHS President Matthew S. Robbins, MD, FAHS, followed by Plenary 1: New Frontiers in Treatments, which will review the latest research and discuss new treatment approaches along with practical applications for patient care. Later, Awards Session 1 highlights this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, along with the Frontiers in Headache Research and 2025 IHA Research Award recipients as they share their research and contributions to the field. 

Friday

Friday begins with research mentorship programs and scientific abstract sessions, along with Plenary 2: Sensitization and Placebo (Keynote) and Plenary 3: The Ear: Sound and Vestibular Sensitivity. These sessions provide in-depth learning on current headache research, new scientific developments, and clinical insights, while encouraging discussion and collaboration among attendees. The afternoon features Award Session 2, where the Headache® Basic Science Prize, Early Career Lecture Award, and Harold G. Wolff Lecture Award recipients share their award-winning research. Friday evening winds down with an Exhibit Hall Happy Hour and scientific poster session, followed by AHS Tonight where the community comes together to showcase their talents.

Saturday

Saturday’s program features additional abstract sessions and Plenary 4: Nausea and Gut-Brain Axis Disorders being led by a range of expert colleagues. The afternoon features Awards Session 3 which highlights the John R. Graham and Seymour Solomon Lecture award recipients, followed by Hot Topics sessions in clinical and basic science research. The day wraps up with the Wine and Cheese Reception Saturday evening, a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with colleagues.

Sunday

On the final day, the meeting concludes with Plenary 5: Biomarkers, Predictors, and Personalized Medicine in Headache, wrapping up four days of cutting-edge research, clinical insights, and practical strategies attendees can apply in practice.
