Continuing Education
Purpose/Objective
This program is designed to advance clinician competency in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of migraine, cluster headache, and related primary and secondary headache disorders. Participants will strengthen their understanding of the physiologic structures and systems underlying headache disease, refine their diagnostic skills through the application of history-taking, established diagnostic criteria, and epidemiologic evidence, and build evidence-based treatment plans that incorporate pharmacologic and device-based therapies, complementary and alternative approaches, and behavioral techniques. The program also emphasizes effective, patient-centered communication with headache patients and caregivers. In addition, the program supports professional development in Headache Medicine by introducing the fundamentals of clinical trial design and publication, fostering mentorship and peer connections through the International Headache Academy, and helping participants evaluate Headache Medicine as a rewarding and viable career path.
